Grand Prix 1 aka F1GP

Formula One Grand Prix (known as World Circuit in the United States) is a racing simulator released in 1992 by MicroProse for the Amiga and PC created by game designer Geoff Crammond. It is often referred to as Grand Prix 1, MicroProse Grand Prix, or just F1GP, although the game itself was not affiliated officially with the FIA or any Formula One drivers. The game is a simulation of Formula One racing at the time and was noted for its 3D graphics and attention to detail, in particular the players ability to edit the teams and drivers and set up their car to their own personal specifications.

Grand Prix 2

Grand Prix 2, sometimes known as “GP2″, is a racing simulator released by MicroProse in 1996. It was made under an official FIA license that featured the Formula 1 1994 season, with all the circuits, teams, drivers and cars. It was one of the first computer games with 3D texture mapping and SVGA graphics, as well as an early but realistic physics engine. A large community of GP2 enthusiasts formed quickly and still exists today. Grand Prix 2 is recognised as the definitive racing simulation of its era, and many feel the height of the GPX series.

Grand Prix 3

Grand Prix 3 (GP3) is a computer racing simulator by MicroProse. Released in 2000 by Hasbro Interactive featuring the 1998 Formula One season. The game didn’t receive great reviews but at the time was widely considered to be the best racing simulation available.

Grand Prix 4

Screenshots

Grand Prix 4, released for the PC on October 9, 2002, is currently the last Formula 1 racing simulator released by the developer Geoff Crammond and the MicroProse label. Essentially serving as a graphical and seasonal update of Grand Prix 3 which had been released in 2000 the game retained the series’ legendary physics engine.

GP4 UPDATE 2007 SEASON (with Portuguese-BR language)

Since Sony has exclusive rights to produce F1 games to the playstation consoles, no more games to PC have been launched (sadly). So, the solution is to update the old (and best of all) games that the incredible mind of Geoff Crammond creates a long time ago. This is the reason of this post, the GP4 update to the 2007 season, that includes drivers, cars, circuits, and so on.

Instructions to install (included in the rar file too):

First of all, extract the file above to a directory. Then:

01 - Install GP4 Patch v9.6 (inside “01 - GP4 patch v9.6″ directory). Just have to indicate
the game folder: In my computer: “c:\program files\infogrames\grand prix 4″.

02 - Copy the file inside of the “02 - GP4 v9.6 NO_CD” directory to the game folder,
replacing the original.

03 - Copy the content of the “03 - Mod 2007 v2.2 - Update v2.5″ directory to the root
folder of the game: “c:\program files\infogrames\grand prix 4″ repacing all the files.

04 - Install the GPX Patch v3.91 (inside the directory “04 - GPX PAtch v3.91″) to the game
folder: “c:\program files\infogrames\grand prix 4″.

05 - Install all the executable rar files from the directory “05 - GP4 BR 2007 v1.0″ to
change the game language to Portuguese-BR.

06 - Copy the file “radio_eng.bnk” (inside “06 - Audio (Brasileiro)” directory) to the
folder: “c:\program files\infogrames\grand prix 4\samples” replacing the original
file, to put game sounds in Portuguese-BR.

Enjoy the 2007 season, with the ultimate F1 racing simulator
